Welcome to Puntarenas, Costa Rica. Puntarenas is the Capital city of the province of Puntarenas which is the largest province in the country and is located in the central pacific area approximately 2 hours from the San Jose (the capital of Costa Rica). The city of Puntarenas is rich in culture and history "El Puerto" (how locals call it) was the first harbor in the country and held most of the coffee exportations at the beginning of the century.
Puntarenas nowadays is the bridge to Nicoya Peninsula, Central and Northern Pacific areas of Costa Rica.
